It’s been over three years since Pooja Hegde appeared in a Telugu film but she is now making her comeback with Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming movie.
In recent times, Pooja faced criticism for her film choices, especially after the failure of Retro. Many thought she would not get new offers so soon.
Pooja’s real stardom came through Telugu cinema. Although she started with Oka Laila Kosam and Mukunda, it was DJ that gave her recognition. Later, Maharshi, Aravinda Sametha and Ala Vaikunthapurramulo cemented her position as a star heroine.
But later films like Most Eligible Bachelor, Radhe Shyam, Acharya and her Bollywood outings like Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Cirkus flopped slowing down her career.
Now, with DQ41 directed by Ravi Nelakuditi and bankrolled by SLV Cinemas, Pooja is seen in a simple, girl-next-door look. Fans hope this, along with Jana Nayagan, will bring her back to success.
