Dhruv Vikram’s upcoming film Bison is all set for its Telugu release this weekend after receiving a decent response in Tamil. The actor is currently in Hyderabad promoting the film.
Bison highlights the caste system and its impact on people’s lives following the story of a Kabaddi player who faces discrimination due to his caste.
Tamil cinema often addresses such social issues and some believe directors do so intentionally. However Dhruv disagrees with that view.
He explained that director Mari Selvaraj makes films inspired by his personal experiences and that every filmmaker has the right to tell stories that matter to them.
Dhruv added that in today’s society especially in South it’s important to talk about such realities and use cinema as a tool to create awareness.
With directors like Pa Ranjith and Vetrimaaran already exploring similar themes Dhruv hopes Bison will also win Telugu audiences’ hearts.
