Dhanush Shares Childhood Memories Behind Idli Kadai

The audio launch of Idli Kadai directed by and starring Dhanush was held grandly on September 14th at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai.

The film features a strong cast including Arun Vijay, Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, Parthiban, Shalini Pandey and Nithya Menen with music by G.V. Prakash. Fans have been eagerly waiting for this film which promises to be unique from its title to its story.

At the event Dhanush explained why he chose the title Idli Kadai. He said the real hero of the film is the idli shop itself not any character. He shared how Ilaiyaraaja songs gave him comfort during lonely times abroad and how the song Naan Erikkarai reminded him of his childhood.

He recalled memories of his grandmother’s house and eating idlis after earning a small wage by picking flowers.

Dhanush said these experiences inspired Idli Kadai blending childhood memories, real-life characters and imagination into one story.
