Director Trinadha Rao Nakkina, known for films like Nenu Local and Dhamaka, expressed his frustration at the trailer launch of his first production Chaurya Paatam.
He said that theaters in the Telugu states especially in Andhra Pradesh, are struggling as audiences are not turning up.
Many second shows are being canceled, even for star hero films, which is affecting the livelihood of many in the industry.
His concern is valid, but the reality is clear, audiences now prefer strong content. They are no longer willing to spend money on poorly made or routine movies.
Big-budget films like Game Changer failed, while low-budget films like Court and Mad Square succeeded by earning over Rs 50 crore.
Recent hits like Kalki, Devara, and Pushpa 2 prove that good content still draws crowds. On the other hand, his own film Mazaka flopped due to weak content. Quality storytelling is the only solution.
