The Andhra Pradesh government has caused some problems for the Telugu film industry in the past few months, with the decreased price of tickets, and the refusal for permissions to any extra, benefit or special shows. The AP government even announced only 50% in theatres from today but has been allowing a few relaxations for some theatres.
With the night curfews, theatres in AP are not in the position to showcase 4 shows in a day, as the night curfew begins at 11 PM in the night. As a result, some theatres are starting their morning shows as early as 8 in the morning. While the revenue from such early shows is not that much, the theatre owners and distributors are said to be of the opinion that something is better than nothing. This is mainly because the films that were released for Sankranthi continue to do well in theatres.
Theatres that are showcasing four shows in a day are said to be happy because the AP government hasn’t objected to it, and is letting it slide by. On the other hand, other theatres are sticking to three shows in a day.
