Actresses have a short period of life. This is true once upon a time. Even the most talented diva like Sri Devi had to bow to this rule and confine to being a housewife after completing a highly successful career of 20 years to return to cinema after her kids have grown up at the age of 45 again. While few actresses in North like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aishwarya Rai have made it clear that age is just number, even the most “male chavunistic” Industries as quite a few claim, South Film Industry is also seeing few actresses change the norm!

While Seniors like Ramyakrishnan, Meena have settled into senior roles, few young seniors are changing that all. Nayantara, Trisha, Shriya and Anushka are seniors to Samantha, Kajal and Tamanna. Now, these young seniors are still proving that they are highly desirable and even better, that they are able to carry a film on their shoulders without having any trouble.

Nayantara is the highest paid actress with a rumoured 4 crores remuneration and next to her is Anushka, with 2.5 crores. Trisha and Shriya have many number of films on their hands and normally, these actresses would have been asked to marry or would have not even getting chances but they don’t have such problems. Isn’t it a good progressive change?
