Actress Sandhya Shetty Talks About Her NGO ‘Nofear

Actress and medallist in karate Sandhya Shetty recently highlighted her Charity Nofear and its goals.
The name Sandhya Shetty doesn’t require any introduction. She is a multitalented woman who has won a gold medal in karate at the Commonwealth Games and is a supermodel and actor.
Moreover, Sandhya has won both the national and state championships in karate six times. In addition to her outstanding accomplishments, Sandhya is dedicated to empowering women and girls all around the nation.
Sandhya discussed her courageous fight to create a secure space for women, guard them against violence, promote health programmes, and enhance lives in advance of International Women’s Day (March 8).
“A state of Nofear is a choice to change you bring within you,” Sandhya said.
The goal of Sandhya’s work with Nofear is to cause a change in how people think.
“We need to inculcate the importance of gender equality on the root level in schools and homes. Both girls and boys must treat each other with respect on every level,” she said.
Sandhya’s pursuit of promoting women’s rights started with her personal experiences. She has always thought that prejudice and all sorts of violence against women have an impact.
Her organisation, Nofear, strives to advance women’s rights nationwide, combat violence against women in all its forms, educate and empower women, and teach them self-defense.
“There are people who believe that we do not need feminism today, but nothing could be further from the truth. Women have struggled for equality and against oppression for centuries, and although some battles have been partly won, we have a long way ahead,” Sandhya said, who is a recipient of the Super Achiever Award of Indian Karate by the hands of superstar Rajnikanth.
Sandhya wants to inspire others to act and bring about change through Nofear. She said, “One needs to be brave and responsible.
The amazing work of Sandhya has not gone unnoticed. She has won numerous international medals, including the gold medal at the Commonwealth Karate Championship in 2015 and the SAKF Gold and Bronze Medal for India in 2017. She is the world’s brand ambassador for women’s emancipation.
