Kangana and Amitabh Bachchan’s wife, Jaya, got into a fight when the latter referred to Bollywood as a “gutter” in the year 2020, when Bollywood was going through a difficult time following the unexpected death of Sushant Singh Rajput and the nepotism controversy was at its height. Jaya slammed a few people in the film industry by saying, “Jis thali mai khaate hai usmai ched karte hai,” without mentioning any names. Immediately after the video went viral, Kangana had a strong reaction to it.

She even requested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi clean it up as part of the government’s Swachh Bharat Program, and Jaya Bachchan was dissatisfied in her statements.
The actresses later met at an event in the year 2022, but Jaya Bachchan decided not to get involved with Kangana Ranaut.
