Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan are facing backlash online for working with choreographer Jani Master who was accused of sexual assault in 2024.

The criticism began after Vignesh posted a photo with Jani master from the sets of his upcoming film Love Insurance Kompany which Nayanthara is co-producing.

The controversy started when Jani shared pictures and a video with Vignesh on July 1st, thanking him for his care, respect and trust. Vignesh reposted it calling Jani “sweet master ji” and expressing his love and support for him.

Many people criticized Vignesh for praising someone accused of a serious crime. They also questioned Nayanthara’s silence especially since she has previously spoken out against abuse.

As a producer and public figure her decision to stay quiet did not sit well with several users, who expected a stronger stance from her.
