Bollywood action star John Abraham’s latest film, “Vedaa“, features Sharvari Wagh in the main role and Tamannaah Bhatia in a cameo. John Abraham, who is also the producer, had the film translated and released in several Telugu-speaking states to make a mark in the Telugu market. Let’s see how his efforts paid off!

Vedaa Review

Vedaa Movie Story: Major Abhimanyu (John Abraham), who was kicked out of the military for breaking rules and killing a terrorist in revenge for his wife Rashi’s (Tamannaah) murder, moves to Barmar village in Rajasthan to start over. There, Jitender Pratap Singh (Abhishek Banerjee) disapproves of how Dalits are treated and begins training Vedaa (Sharvari) in boxing to help her escape the caste system. Meanwhile, Vedaa’s elder brother falls in love with a girl from a higher caste, which causes major problems. The film “Vedaa” follows how Abhimanyu supports Vedaa in fighting against this caste-based discrimination.

Performances: Abhishek Banerjee, who played the villain, was particularly impressive throughout the film . He portrayed the sarpanch with a mix of pride and kindness. Sharvari also tried to stand out with her acting, but her character didn’t have a strong development, making it hard for the audience to connect with her.

John Abraham performed well in the action scenes but struggled with the emotional parts. His expressions often seemed off, which frustrated the audience at times.

Technical Aspects: Karthik Shah’s background score is the best part of the film. He used the sitar to enhance the intensity and emotion of the scenes very effectively. The score is the only highlight of the movie. The action scenes are entertaining to some extent, and the production design is very lavish.

Senior director Nikkhil Advani’s idea of tackling a serious issue with a commercial approach is good. However, John Abraham’s and Sharvari’s characters lack development, which makes the film feel flat. While audiences expect exciting action from John Abraham, the film only delivers a few action-packed moments.

The climax, particularly the important court scene, was poorly executed and didn’t do justice to the movie or its characters. Overall, the film, which is based on true events, ends up being quite disappointing.

Analysis: A strong commercial film could have been made about an army major helping a Dalit girl. However, the director’s attempt to make the film emotionally impactful, like “Article 15,” didn’t

succeed. The lack of emotional connection is a major drawback. Overall, John Abraham’s hopes for a commercial hit were disappointed.

Verdict: “Vedaa” had the potential to be a powerful commercial film with its compelling premise of an army major supporting a Dalit girl. However, the film falls short in delivering the emotional depth it aimed for, leading to a lack of connection with the audience. While the background score by Karthik Shah and some action scenes offer moments of interest, the overall execution, including poorly handled character arcs and a disappointing climax, fails to live up to expectations.

Bottom Line: If there is no option you can watch it..

Rating: 1.5/5
