Varun Dhawan Set For YRF’s Horror Debut

Yash Raj Films is entering the horror genre for the first time with Varun Dhawan reportedly chosen as the lead actor.

The film will be directed by Abhay Pannu, known for the popular series Rocket Boys. This will be Varun’s second project with YRF after Sui Dhaaga.

The untitled film will be written by Pannu and will mark his debut as a theatrical director. Akshaye Widhani has also played a key role in developing this project.

Production is expected to begin later this year with a 2027 release planned for sure. Varun already has experience in the horror genre through Bhediya, Munjya, Stree 2 and Thamma.

He is also expected to return for Bhediya 2. Meanwhile his 2026 release Border 2 was successful, while Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai failed at the box office.
