One of Hollywood’s prominent news outlets, Variety, has been making quite the news for the past few days with its articles on RRR. The last time around, it was the most talked about after one of its articles stated that NTR is one of the possible contenders for the best actor nomination in the 2023 Oscars. This not only started a huge discussion about the film but also led to fan wars.
Now, Variety has published yet another article, stating that RRR has a massive potential to be nominated in the best International Feature film category, or better yet, the best picture category, for the Oscars 2023. While Variety says that the chances for a best film nomination are quite slim, the film might be able to get an international feature film nomination if the Indian jury decides to send the film for nomination instead of another.
This is certain to raise a lot more discussions in the Indian film fraternity, but should the film be India’s official entry, and should be nominated for the Oscars, then it would be India’s first nomination in 21 years.
