Varanasi Glimpse: The Rise Of Rudra Begins

Mahesh Babu and director Rajamouli’s first film together, Varanasi, was launched today with a stunning glimpse. The short video impressed everyone and introduced a huge world that mixes mythology and time travel.

The story begins in 512 CE in Varanasi and then jumps to 2027 CE when an asteroid named Shambhavi hits Earth. From there the journey moves through Antarctica, Africa, Vanaanchal and finally goes back to Tretayugam (7200 BCE). Here we’re going to meet Rudra, played by Mahesh Babu who is on a powerful mission.

The glimpse is filled with rich VFX, especially the final shot where Mahesh appears holding a Trishul while riding Nandi.

Mahesh called this his dream project and wished to make everyone proud. The team worked almost a year to create this output showing how big the film is going to be.

Priyanka Chopra plays the female lead while Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the villain. Durga Arts is producing the film.
