Suriya Praises Karthik Subbaraj’s Unique Filmmaking Style

Suriya praised director Karthik Subbaraj calling him a visionary filmmaker with a unique style. He explained that Subbaraj is someone who disrupts the industry with his fresh storytelling.

Suriya admired how Subbaraj crafts characters with distinct personalities not just the main lead but every character in the film.

Discussing his collaboration on Retro, Suriya mentioned that Subbaraj has a unique way of surprising actors with how he frames scenes often changing the perspective and camera placement which adds an element of unpredictability.

He described working with Subbaraj as a dream come true after years of discussions with the film finally set for release.

Retro set in the 1990s, features a mix of nostalgia, action and style, with a strong ensemble cast including Jayaram, Joju George and Shriya Saran. The film is scheduled for release on May 1st.
