Silambarasan TR (Simbu) is quickly bouncing back after the disappointing response to Thug Life co-starring Kamal Haasan. Despite the film’s performance, Simbu has several exciting projects lined up.
The latest buzz is that he’s in advanced talks to star in a gangster drama directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran. Set in North Chennai, the film is expected to begin shooting by late June or early July.
It will be produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, with an official announcement expected soon. This quick project will be wrapped up before Vetrimaaran starts Vaadivaasal with Suriya in November.
Meanwhile, Simbu is also working on a film with director Ramkumar Balakrishnan, featuring Kayadu Lohar and Santhanam. He will then team up with Desingu Periyasamy for a large-scale film under his own banner.
Another project with AGS Productions and director Ashwath Marimuthu is also on the way. Rumors of a film with Mani Ratnam are also doing the rounds.
