Telugu Film or any film for that matter depend on audience to recover their costs and build a career. But audience are the most neglected group and the maintenance of the theatres and screens are neglected for longer time resulting in audience preferring watching movies in their comfort chairs at home rather than at the theatres. Even the growth in ticket rates during the initial weekend also acting against the producers instead of bringing them more profits.Until and unless if it is a big hero film not many are interested to watch a film at multiplexes even fearing for the weak content and high ticket rates. Many who are willing to spend their weekends at the theatres other than shopping complexes are going to the big establishments like multiplexes, but the rates at these establishments are high so they prefer to visit them as less frequently as possible.

Single screens that have been the major attraction bringing in the euphoria of a big star film home, are slowly dying down. Many single screens even in towns are being converted into multiplexes slowly but the ticket rates that these multiplexes propose to recover their costs are playing against the plans of the big producers. Many producers who have distribution offices have decided to collaborate with one another and buy the single screens that are under the verge of closing down. This has been happening from several years with Suresh Babu and Allu Aravind being the pioneers in distribution and launching the chain of multiplexes.

Now with UV Creations also coming into the equation, Geetha Arts and UV Creations are buying the single screens in Krishna, Guntur, Ongole, Vizag area and are renovating few theatres coinciding with the big releases. Few theatres are being closed from the November and they will be opened in December with Dhruva and few others will open with Chiranjeevi’s 150th film. This is great for audience that the sad situation of theatres will be rectified and it is also a great thing for producers as the ticket rates will increase with the new releases and improved condition of the theatres. Win-Win situation for the producers mostly. Now, all in the hands of makers to come up with attractive content.
