Sara Ali Khan responds to a recent statement made by Janhvi Kapoor about gaining the respect of the public and offers a completely different perspective.
The days of Bollywood performers competing professionally are long gone. Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor are the best examples of this age. With the releases of Kedarnath and Dhadak in 2018, the couple made their Bollywood debuts. Even though they are both in high demand today, they continue to be great friends and support one another at all times. But, the most recent discussion on “respect” has divided them.
If memory serves, Janhvi had already talked to Barkha Dutt on “We The Women” on how she’s recognised. After Dhadak, she has had numerous opportunities to work on projects, but she has not yet gained anyone’s regard. She quoted, “Mujhe mauke bohot mile hai, par izzat abhi tak nahi mila.”
After Janhvi Kapoor’s comment about not being respected, Sara Ali Khan was questioned. The actress responded by saying to Siddharth Kannan,“I think for me, if you accept me for who I am, that’s the biggest sign of respect and I think, touchwood, I got that very early in my career.”
“But even then, whether it’s Kedarnath or Atrangi, I read the reviews I was given. I don’t think respect has been a problem for me.”
Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan, on the other hand, have each had their own unique paths and should be permitted to find professional fulfilment at their own pace.
Sara’s next professional appearance will be in Gaslight, where she will be paired with Vikrant Massey. Chitrangda Singh plays a significant role in the movie as well.
Nonetheless, Janhvi Kapoor is currently working on the films Bawaal and Mr. & Mrs. Mahi.
