The teaser of Ramayana was unveiled on July 3rd and received a highly positive response. Soon after, reports claimed that apart from the main cast, actors like Anil Kapoor, Vikrant Massey, Vivek Oberoi, and others were also part of the film.
This sparked fresh speculation that Bobby Deol might play Kumbhakaran especially since his brother Sunny Deol plays Hanuman. However a source confirmed that Bobby is not involved in the project and that the rumours are baseless.
Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari the film’s music is by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, with VFX by DNEG. Part 1 releases on Diwali 2026, and Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
Meanwhile Bobby Deol is set for Hari Hara Veera Mallu (July 24), Alpha (Christmas 2025), and Jana Nayagan (January 2026).
