Kaala might end up as the only film from Rajnikanth after becoming an undisputed Superstar of South Indian films. He gave another chance to Pa. Ranjith after Kabali as he liked the director’s style of making. The movie was supposed to benefit from 2.0 success and maddening rush, but 2.0 has gone out of equation so far that even Shankar, the director is unable to pinpoint a date or time, when the film will release.
Even though Kaala is releasing on 7th June, the buzz is so low in both Telugu states and even Tamil Nadu, that the ticket windows are appearing free and many shows are still available. This is a first for any Rajni film as even his Lingaa was able to draw in huge crowds. Now, we got to know another interesting piece of information. The movie had many release woes before it could finalize the date and centers it will release in Telugu states and even in Karnataka, the demand for a ban on film is continuing.
In Telugu states, Lyca Productions took the theatrical rights from Dhanush the producer and they called for some fancy prices from the distributors. None have turned up and finally, even when they tried to sell it for least possible prices, Dil Raju and NV Prasad, two big distributors have come forward to take the movie on commission basis and they haven’t paid any amount. They will take commission for releasing and profits, loses whatever the film will incur are the producer and presenters, headache. Well, this is a never expected situation for Rajni and all this is due to Kabali’s box office performance and Kaala, needs to get extraordinary talk to overcome all this negativity. Let’s see how will it perform.
