Rakul Steps In For Priyanka In Epic Ramayana

New updates have surfaced about the casting of the high budget film Ramayana. According to reports Priyanka Chopra was the original choice to play Surpanakha, a key character in the story.

However due to her busy schedule with international projects, she couldn’t take up the role. That’s when Rakul Preet Singh came on board.

Sources say she fit the role perfectly and brought a fresh and intense take to the character. While the news is buzzing online, the makers haven’t officially confirmed it yet.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari the film is produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash. Ramayana Part 1 will release on Diwali 2026 followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027.

With a massive budget of Rs. 835 crore the film will take 600 days for post-production. The makers also plan to release it in different languages. The star cast includes Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and others.
