Rajkummar Rao Stuns As Sourav Ganguly

Rajkummar Rao has officially stepped into the role of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly in the biopic Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story.

On Ganguly birthday the film team unveiled the first look featuring Rajkummar recreating Ganguly’s iconic shirtless celebration from the Lord’s balcony after India’s much famous victory over England in the 2002 NatWest Series final.

The moment is still remembered as one of the greatest celebrations in Indian cricket history as everyone know. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane the film will trace Ganguly’s inspiring journey from a young cricketer to one of India’s most successful captains without fail.

Ganguly has expressed confidence in Rajkummar’s performance and said he will support the actor for sure in understanding his life and career. This biopic is produced by Luv Films and is scheduled for release on May 14th 2027.
