Priyanka Chopra breaks her silence about her decision to leave Bollywood, exposing the underbelly of the motion picture business.

We are all proud of India’s very own Desi Girl, but why did she decide to change her career to music in America? We all know she had a stellar career here, but there were rumours that she didn’t get along well with some of the key figures. The actress ultimately made it public, and it only serves to highlight the negative aspects of the film business.
The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy, released in 2003, marked the Bollywood debut of the Miss World 2000 winner. She played a character with grey undertones in Aitraaz, which was her breakthrough role. She recently admitted in an interview that she was looking for a way to leave the situation. Yet why?
Priyanka Chopra revealed during an interview on Dax Shepherd’s podcast Armchair Expert that she received a chance that changed her life while filming Saat Khoon Maaf. Chopra revealed that Anjula Acharia of Desi Hits noticed her and inquired about her interest in pursuing a singing career in the US. She continued by disclosing her true motivation for leaving Bollywood.
The actor said, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break. This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave for the movies I didn’t want to get but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require grovelling and I had worked a long time by then that I didn’t feel like I wanted to do it.”
She continued, “So when this music thing came I was like ‘fu** it I’am going to America’.”
Around 2012, her debut song, “In My City,” was released. Priyanka even collaborated with Pitbull, a popular musician. Sadly, her music career didn’t pan out as she had hoped, so she decided to return to acting after someone had suggested she try her luck in Hollywood. As a result, she was offered the lead role in ABC’s Quantico. Finally, there she is!
