Chandrashekhar Srikrishna, grandson of Dadasaheb Phalke, the Father of Indian cinema, has expressed disappointment over SS Rajamouli’s plans to make a biopic on his grandfather without informing the family.
While Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani recently announced their biopic on Phalke, Rajamouli had earlier revealed his project with Jr NTR in the lead.
Srikrishna said that despite hearing about Rajamouli’s film, no one from his team has contacted him. He stressed that when making a film on Phalke, the family must be consulted as they have important insights to share.
On the other hand, he praised Aamir Khan’s team for staying in touch and doing proper research over the past three years. He mentioned that assistant producer Hindukush Bhardwaj visited him multiple times and showed genuine interest.
Srikrishna also suggested Vidya Balan to play his grandmother Saraswatibai Phalke in Aamir’s film. Shooting for Aamir’s project is expected to begin in October after Sitaare Zameen Par releases on June 20th.
