Ram Gopal Verma is known for taking inspiration from English and World Cinema for his movies but he created cinematic spectacles like Shiva, Satya, Company, Sarkar, Gayam which are still popular among 90’s generation kids. The filmmaker enjoys unparalleled fame and mostly keeps himself in news with various controversies. The director’s journey began with Annapurna Studios and he got the chance to direct Nagarjuna in his first movie. Shiva became a huge sensation and he took off the career of RGV.

The combination then gave Antham and Govinda Govinda. Both the films even though commercial failures due to experimental themes, they are still popular for their freshness in writing and execution. Many fans of Nagarjuna, ask him to remake Antham for this generation. Well, the actor after almost 24 years gap decides to work with RGV for a film. The movie completed the shoot and it is titled as Officer.

Ever since the movie posters have come out people have been thinking that this could be an unofficial remake or a film that resembles Taken. Ram Gopal Verma clarified to a daily that the movie has no resemblance at all. He said, “Yes, Nagarjuna is playing a cop in the movie. He has a young daughter too. But there is no resemblance to Taken series.” Officer completed the shoot and the movie is scheduled for May 25 release.
