Silambarasan TR’s 49th film, tentatively titled STR 49, was officially launched with director Ramkumar. While the shoot was set to begin in June, things took a turn when the producer got caught in an ED case.
This caused delays, and creative differences between Simbu and the team reportedly added to the trouble.
Comedian Santhanam who was supposed to return to a supporting role in this film, allegedly demanded that his character have equal importance as Simbu’s.
These conditions reportedly led to a rift between the two actors, resulting in Simbu putting the project on hold.
Simbu was also unhappy with Ramkumar’s final script and decided to change the director. The film has now been revived with acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran on board and music by GV Prakash.
Set in North Chennai, the movie stars Kavin, Andrea, Nelson, and Samuthirakani. Shoot is currently underway.
