Nandini Reddy Defends Filmmakers Over Criticism
Director Nandini Reddy has responded to the online criticism over Janhvi Kapoor’s role in the film Peddi. She said it is not right to blame only filmmakers after a movie is released.
According to her, actors are not forced to take up roles and no one signs a project “at gunpoint”.
She explained that every character is clearly narrated and discussed with the actor before shooting begins. If an actor is not comfortable they always have the option to refuse the role.
Nandini Reddy added that both the filmmaker and actor agree on the character before starting the project.
So, she feels it is unfair to put all the responsibility on directors or writers when audiences raise concerns after watching the film.
