Mohan Lal has a name across India as a great actor with several National award recognitions and he is the most respected actor as his contemporary Mammotty from the same industry. In Telugu also he has a great fan following with several of his films dubbed playing well to full capacity theatres. His recent blockbuster film, Puli Murugan became a hit as Manyam Puli as well. With Janatha Garage becoming popular here, Mohan Lal decided to cater to Telugu audience and increasing his market as well. With good stories and screenplays, last year he scored several blockbusters. One of them is with his long time friend and great director, Priyadarshan. The movie is called Oppam and the movie became a big hit in Malayalam industry and Puli Murugan topped it.
There were talks with several telugu directors and actors about remaking the movie but none of them materialised. And even Mohan Lal with his changed plans wanted to release it directly by buying the dub rights in Telugu. The movie is now releasing as Kanu Papa in Telugu. In the movie, Mohan Lal is a visually disabled man who is a watch man for Appartment. His relationship with a young girl and saving her becomes the important part of the story. The theatrical trailer has been released and this movie will be releasing on 3rd February.
