A stalwart in Telugu cinema, Mohan Babu, who has excelled in all kinds of roles from a hero to a villain, from a comedian to a character artist, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement at the 63rd Britannia Filmfare Awards South 2016. It was a very emotional moment as the award was presented by his aide for the longest time, filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao. While giving away the award to him, he said “Mohan Babu is also an actor, producer, educationist, philanthorpist.
I am so proud of all he has become. He is a man of strict discipline, if he is called at 7am, he will show up at 7 am. Thank you Filmfare and Mohan Babu for honouring him.”
Mohan Babu’s acceptance speech was also very emotional as he said, “I started my career in 1975 in Chennai, then I moved to Hyderabad. After 556 films I dedicate this award to all my fans. Having won awards as a hero, a villain and character actors and now having won it for the Lifetime Achievement is memorable,” . What a man and what a careergraph!
