Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty has been promoted a lot in the last few days. Starring Anushka and Naveen Polishetty in lead roles, the film has been released today. Read our review here.

Story: Anvita’s(Anushka) mother, in her last wish, asks her daughter to find a partner. But Anvita has no interest in love and decides to become a single mother by finding a sperm donor. She locks a standup comedian named Siddhu(Naveen Polishetty) and begins the process. In all this, Siddhu falls for her and this creates complications in the life of Anvita. The rest of the story is about how the couple finds love finally.

Performances: It was so good to see Anushka on the big screen after such a long time. She gets a bold role and fits the bill perfectly. The character suits her age and gives Anushka a lot of scope to perform. The star heroine looks beautiful on screen as well and has been showcased beautifully. After a long gap, Naveen Polishetty makes a comeback and is as solid as Siddhu. His comedy timing, emotions, body language, and chemistry with Anushka are top-notch. Jayasudha was good in a small role. Murali Sharma was good as the hero’s dad and the rest of the cast was on par.

Technicalities: Radaan has composed the music and all the songs suit perfectly into the narrative. The BGM is good and the camerawork is fresh. The writing by director Mahesh Babu P is top-notch as he has handled an edgy subject with ease. The lyrics are good and the production design was quite good. The runtime of the film should have been a tad less. The screenplay and the last half an hour are emotional.

Analysis: Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty is a film that speaks about how modern women think these days. They do not want any relationships but want kids in life and are using so many opportunities to do so. Director Mahesh Babu has weaved a line in such a manner that the film connects to all age groups. The film is bold, has a view, and is also emotional showcasing how companionship is important in life at the end of the day.

The director showcases why the heroine makes the decision to have a baby without marriage in a very neat way. But the moment Naveen Polishetty enters the scene changes and gives the film an edge. There is comedy and amazing romance between the lead pair, and the way the conflict point is brought in is very good. The pace in the second half goes down a bit all that is handled properly in the last twenty minutes.

Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty majorly clicks because of its freshness, Anushka’s character, and the fun generated by Naveen Polishetty. There are moments where the film goes down as the way the hero behaves when he is rejected by the heroine looks a bit odd. The initial portions of the film are dragged and the film has a great first half. If the director would have managed a racy screenplay in the second, the output would have been even better. But still, the lead pair holds our attention with their act.

Verdict: Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty is a coming-of-age romantic drama with a fresh subject. Anushka makes a striking comeback and Naveen Polishetty steals the show with his at. Though there are glitches in the second half, a moving climax covers it all and makes this film a perfect family drama to enjoy this weekend.

Rating: 3/5

Bottom Line – Contemporary and Fun-filled
