Lokesh Kanagaraj Steps Into Acting

Lokesh Kanagaraj is stepping into acting. He is reportedly playing the lead in a new film directed by Arun Matheswaran, the man behind Captain Miller starring Dhanush.

This marks Lokesh’s debut as a full-fledged hero, although he’s made short appearances before in movies like Master and the Inimel music video with Kamal Haasan’s lyrics.

Arun was earlier set to make the Ilaiyaraaja biopic but is now focused on this new project. Though the makers haven’t officially confirmed it yet, fans are buzzing with excitement.

Meanwhile Lokesh is also busy finishing Coolie, an action film starring Rajinikanth, set to release on August 14th, 2025.

The movie also features big names like Nagarjuna, Upendra and Shruti Haasan. Interestingly Coolie will clash with War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR.
