Khushbu Sundar, an actress and politician has spoken out about the recent movement against sexual harassment in the Malayalam film industry.
Many actresses have shared their experiences with casting couch issues and harassment naming several prominent actors and filmmakers involved.
Khushbu praised the women who have stood up and succeeded. She questioned why women are often pressured to give sexual favors to advance their careers.
She highlighted that abuse and demands for sexual favors happen in many professions but women seem to face these challenges more frequently.
She urged women to stand firm and not compromise their dignity. “This should be a morning call for everyone. Let’s end exploitation now”.
“Women speak up and remember you always have a choice. Your NO should always be respected. Never compromise on your dignity and respect,” she said.
