Raveena Tandon criticised Karisma Kapoor in a recent interview after the latter’s accusation of ganging up against the former went viral
Bollywood actresses have a long history of conflict with one another. Yet, one of the most contentious relationships in B-town throughout the 1990s was the one between Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor. They had a nasty argument, and despite their best efforts to keep things civil in front of each other, they have always said one thing or another behind the other’s back.
For the uninitiated, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Karisma, and Raveena collaborated on the movie Andaz Apna Apna. Nonetheless, everyone is familiar with their nasty equation. Raveena once acknowledged that she had supposedly been dropped from two movies as a result of Kapoor.
When Karisma Kapoor was asked about her apparent rivalry with Raveena Tandon in an interview with Stardust, the actress opened up and said, “How dare she say that my mother doesn’t acknowledge her? In fact, when they meet, it’s Raveena who doesn’t say hello to her. We’re all taught good manners and we should use them. Raveena should know how to respect seniors. And what does Raveena mean by saying Salman and I gang up against her? Salman and I are both busy stars, and we have better things to do in life than ganging up against Raveena. I’m sure Salman will agree with me on that.”
Apparently, Karisma Kapoor’s remarks about “ganging up” caused quite a stir worldwide. Just recently, Raveena Tandon spoke candidly to the public about her supposed former rival Kapoor. In an interview with ANI for the media a few days ago, Raveen said, “It doesn’t make me a superstar if I pose with Karisma Kapoor today. She doesn’t feature in my life in any which way. I’m a professional, I don’t care.”
The Tip Tip Barsa actress went on to say that she and Karisma Kapoor are not close friends. And if there was a chance that they might collaborate, Raveena Tandon would take the job because she doesn’t give a damn about “these silly ego problems” as far as the work is concerned.
