Kamal Haasan’s Special Wish For Rajkumar Periasamy

Director Rajkumar Periasamy has won the National Award for Best Direction for Amaran at the 72nd National Film Awards.

President Droupadi Murmu presented the award on September 22nd. The film also won Best Music Direction for GV Prakash Kumar’s background score.

Kamal Haasan who produced Amaran, congratulated Rajkumar on the honour and personally called him after the announcement.

His lovely message has also made fans hope for a Kamal Haasan and Rajkumar Periasamy film in the future. However there is no official confirmation about their next collaboration.

Amaran stars Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi and tells the great story of Major Mukund Varadarajan. Released in October 2024 while the film received better and positive reviews and became a major commercial success.
