Kajal Aggarwal has reportedly joined the cast of Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, and will be seen playing Mandodari, the wise and noble queen and first wife of Ravana.
Kannada star Yash plays Ravana in the film marking his first on-screen pairing with Kajal. According to sources, Kajal recently completed her look test and has begun shooting. The team is currently filming the scenes set in Lanka.
Mandodari is a significant yet less-explored character in the epic known for her wisdom and moral values, often acting as the voice of reason in Ravana’s court. Kajal’s casting brings depth to the already star-studded film.
Earlier Sakshi Tanwar was considered for the role, but Kajal has now been finalized. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
Ramayana is expected to be a multi-part epic produced on a grand scale.
