Suriya’s Jai Bhim, which was released on Amazon Prime directly last year, was one of the best films of 2021. The concept of the film, and Suriya’s acting, along with everything else concerning the film resonated well with the audiences and critics alike.
Owing to its content and subject, Jai Bhim has been one of India’s official entries to the Oscars race, and there has been a good buzz about the film ever since. The latest rperots suggest that there are good chances that the film might be nominated in the Best Picture category at the Oscars this year. This has become the talk of the town following New York Times Awards Season Columnist Kyle Buchanan’s Tweet. The Tweet she made while replying to a question very much implied that Jai Bhim ahs very good chances of being nominated in the Best Picture category this year.
The nominations for this year’s Oscars would be announced tonight, on Tuesday, 8th February and the ceremony is scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 27, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and will be televised on the American network ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
