Imtiaz Ali Shares His View On Political Cinema

Acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali recently visited Hyderabad to promote his latest film, Main Vaapas Aavunga. During an interaction, he shared his thoughts on politics in Indian cinema.

Imtiaz said filmmakers can explore political and sensitive subjects but they should never make a film with the intention of attacking or blaming any individual, community or ideology for sure.

He clearly explained that his focus has always been on human emotions rather than political debates honestly. Speaking about Main Vaapas Aavunga he said this film is set during the 1947 India and Pakistan Partition but it does not take any sides.

This story follows a 95 year old man who wishes to return to his birthplace. This film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharvari in key roles.
