Anasuya Bharadwaj made a name for herself as an anchor on the Telugu Television. Her hot avatar sensationalized and changed the norms of anchoring on TV. Many young female wannabe anchors followed her style of trendy clothes and talking straight without any inhibitions. She later started doing films and now, she got the role of her lifetime, Rangammattha in the film, Rangasthalam. The actress talked to press about her role and how he approached it.
She said, “After Sukumar completed the narration, I wanted to be part of the movie. But if I will be called Attha on screen my image as an anchor would be in danger and I asked the makers to please make me call as Rangamma at least. But after started shooting, I understood I should not be worried about it. I thought my role will be liked or will be hated and there won’t be a middle ground. Sukumar sir and his team believed in me and that boosted my confidence. I always keep realistic expectations for myself and I did not perform to the levels of Ram Charan and Samantha, I felt.”
She talked about her expressing her displeasure over Arjun Reddy publicly. She said, “I did not like a young son scolding his father like how Arjun Reddy, the hero scolded. A few years ago, villains used to act in one way, now heroes are also doing similar acts and they should be condemned, I felt. After cooling down, I thought as parents we should be more careful in what children learn. I will not be returning to social media full fledged. My account will be handled by a team. When I have the strength to handle the negativity and trolls, I will come back to using social media, all by myself.”
