In Telugu film industry, making a movie has not been difficult but marketing it and releasing it has become a headache. With several small distributors choosing to operate with big distributors and exhibitors leasing their theatres to certain distribution agencies, there has been a monopoly in the distribution circle by several big timers. It is no wrong to save the wailing Exhibition sector, but not letting any exhibition of a film, became a point of big sorrow for many budding producers. Recently, R. Narayana Murthy on the eve of his film release, Head Constable Venkataramayya, for Sankranthi expressed the concern and requested for theatres. But the pleas have gone invain and he secured only a minimum release in Telangana of 23 theatres and none in Andhra Pradesh.
This angered the producer of the movie and actor even further. They have conducted a press meet to express their dissatisfactions regarding the same targeting Geeta distribution and Megastar Chiranjeevi. Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao, the producer lamented Chiranjeevi for thinking that only his films should survive with a huge release. While Chiranjeevi publicly expressed the movie to become a hit, this kind of allegations centering him have triggered a discussion among his fans and general audience is this a valid accusation or a vehement outburst.
R. Narayana Murthy maintaining his dignity asked government to take care of the situation as the Film Producers Council failed to do any justice in the regards of these presisting issues. He said the movie needs to pick up even better and requested audience to help them fight their cause by suggesting several scenes from the movie that have potential entertaining capacity. But the audience on the other hand are showing no interest in the film. May be a better soundtrack helped their cause better but the issues needs to be taken care off with many people targeting their allegations towards the ‘syndicate’ as they refer to.
