Actor Venkatesh took a honest step in the direction of making a sports drama in Telugu Cinema. The actor managed to capture the essence of the original, Saala Khadoos with his portrayal and by repeating the same team in Telugu. The movie after delays released last weekend and proved to be one of the sincere films from Telugu Industry.
While Venkatesh was praised for playing his age and looking in saltn’pepper look for the first time, Ritika Singh the younger boxer turned actress took the proverbial cake among the actors performing to the best of her ability and showing that it is no fluke that she won a National Award for her performance, the first time. Sudha Kongara, the director was also appreciated for bringing out the actors in the entire cast and getting out the best from the crew yet again.
The movie was released amidst certain low buzz but right from the first show, the movie became got a positive talk and it was seen as the first hit of this Summer season. The movie improved over the weekend specially in Telugu states as others have seem the Tamil and Hindi versions of the same film. The movie managed to collect a decent 7 crores share Worldwide over a limited release. But the Overseas turned out to be underperformer for the movie and thus, the movie ended up collecting less than anticipated for talk it generated.
