Government gives permission to open theatres but …!

People have been spreading the news about the permission given by Central Government to open theaters from 15th October but are missing a crucial point. After a month campaign and lobbying by famous multiplex chains in India, the government has accepted to open theaters with 50% occupancy. In the guidelines released by Central Government for #Unlock5, they have stated clearly that Government has given permission to re-opening of theaters only “Outside the Containment Zones”.

Multiplex chains, Single theaters can operate at 50% seating capacity, ONLY at the zones that are permitted to open up all other businesses as well. Which means that major cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi will not see theaters opening on 15th October. So, for all those movie lovers who are planning to save up and watch the first movie that releases after 15th October, look forward to the list that Government will release with SoP and find out if theaters are allowed to open in your area or not.
