We normally see big dip in business of previous week releases when two high-profile releases try to take the hefty share with maximum centres releases. But it doesn’t need to be true always. Sometimes, the number one preference could be the previous release over new one. This week seems such one as the trade pundits predict poor show for Vishwaroopam-2 and Srinivasa Kalyanam with the kind of talk they received and also, the ongoing ticket trends.
As per few observers, Srinivasa Kalyanam has taken a huge dip at B and C centres, even though it is a limited release. The total occupancy rates are said to be reduced to abysmal 30-35% while A centres are slightly better with 55-65%. Many areas are not being filled fast and even the big boost in publicity is not helping. The talk has been very poor. Vishwaroopam-2, on the other hand is struggling all over with lean 40-45% in two days and it will be a miracle if film can boost up to 90% in the coming days.
Goodachari has been replaced in some centres and in the limited centres it is playing, it is still maintaining a healthy 85% occupancy all over. With such strong second weekend movie will earn profits for all, it seems. Even USA has similar story to offer as per occupancy rates of early shows on Friday. We have to wait for final figures to really see, if the trade experts have just predicted looking at the talk or were their observations right? Chi La Sow has very limited screens and it is holding to 65-70% in multiplexes.
