Imtiaz Ali is reportedly stepping into a new genre with a quirky romantic comedy titled “Idiots of Istanbul”. Although the project has not been officially confirmed buzz suggests it will feature Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri in lead roles.
Rumors hint that this Netflix original could mark his Bollywood debut. Fahadh is said to be in advanced discussions with Imtiaz Ali.
A source close to the project shared that the title, “Idiots of Istanbul”, reflects the film’s fun and unique vibe. It’s a slice of life romantic comedy, a departure from Imtiaz’s usual intense romances.
The story follows two characters on a journey to Istanbul, and the roles require talented actors like Fahadh. He is thrilled to collaborate with Imtiaz Ali and his team.
The movie is expected to start production in early 2025 with a three month shooting schedule. Pre-production is already underway with Imtiaz Ali fine tuning the script and scouting locations.
On the career front Fahadh is currently seen in Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa 2“, while Triptii Dimri was last seen in “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video”.
