Recently, actor Vishwak Sen made a significant statement on Twitter, expressing his reluctance to challenge set release dates, particularly in the context of the upcoming movie “Gangs Of Godavari.” This tweet shed light on a growing conflict within the Telugu film industry between heroes and producers when it comes to movie release dates.
It’s been reported that Sankranthi 2024 is set to witness fierce competition, with five major movies vying for a spot, much like the scenario in December 7 and 8, where Nani, Vishwak Sen, Nithin, and Varun Tej were pitted against each other. This time around, the competition includes prominent actors such as Mahesh Babu, Vijay Devarakonda, Venkatesh, Ravi Teja, and director Prashanth Varma, all aiming for release on January 12 and 13, 2024.
While Vishwak Sen openly addressed his concerns about release dates and potential postponements, other heroes may choose not to do so publicly. Nevertheless, the industry acknowledges the underlying issues, and there’s concern that similar incidents to Vishwak Sen’s statement may arise.
With Sankranthi already becoming a crowded release window, as seen in December, it’s likely that pressure from distribution and production circles may lead to conflicts. However, the consensus is that resolving such matters behind closed doors and making official statements would be a more constructive approach than airing grievances on social media.
