Another Setback For Jana Nayagan Release
Jana Nayagan has faced another legal setback once again raising concerns in the industry about censorship and long delays.
The Madras HC has cancelled a previous order that directed the CBFC to issue a censor certificate and has sent the matter back for a fresh hearing. This has pushed the film release into further uncertainty.
The producers say they have already made all the cuts suggested by the censor board and believe the delay is due to procedural confusion rather than the film content.
Meanwhile the financial impact is huge as big-budget films involve large investments and the livelihoods of many workers. Delays mainly affect producers, distributors, and theatre owners.
Adding to the attention, Jana Nayagan is being seen as Vijay’s last full film before his entry into politics. For now, the makers must comply with CBFC directions, and the release date remains unclear.
