Anjumm Shharma, an actor who played Sultan of Delhi and had previously worked with Aanand L Rai, encouraged him to attend his first workshop.

Anjumm Shharma, an actor who is now waiting for the premiere of his new streaming series “Sultan of Delhi,” began his career working as Aanand L. Rai’s assistant director.

Anjumm made the decision to pursue acting while working on the script for the hugely successful movie “Tanu Weds Manu Part 1.”

In actuality, Anjumm’s first workshop was encouraged by the “Atrangi Re” director.

Anjumm said the following when discussing the subject: “Aanand sir was scripting ‘Tanu Weds Manu part 1’ at the time, and I had considered pushing on. I made the decision to research and foray into the performing arts when I was helping him. I recall telling him that I want to pursue acting one afternoon. He only recommended my first acting workshop, in actuality. Soon after completing the acting workshop for two months, I began attending auditions for roles in movies, commercials, and television shows.

The actor soon earned two major television roles, but he ultimately opted to let them go in order to focus more on developing his acting skills

The actor said: “I got two leading television shows as a lead but I turned it down because I believed I was still not ready, instead I started doing theatre. Everyone around me highly criticised this decision as I had declined a supposedly big television offer. But call it my stubbornness or clarity, I know if I want to pursue acting, I need to be trained.”

Anjumm described his shift from stage to movies as “smooth.” When I had a lot of theatre work, I was quite happy. I learned a lot and enjoyed it, and as a result I met Bejoy Nambiar, who offered me the role of Farhan Akhtar in the movie “Wazir,” starring Amitabh Bachchan. Even just working with and around such legends was a major step forward for my acting career. But it didn’t really help me much as an actor. I went back and picked up acting again, practically beginning over, until a different opportunity presented itself a few years later as the entertainment industry underwent a transformation in terms of OTT and “Mirzapur” took place.
