Amar Kaushik On Casting Aneet Padda For Maddock Horror Comedy Film

Before the audience settled in for the Diwali release Thamma, they were shown a 60 second teaser announcing Shakti Shalini.

Earlier, Kiara Advani was said to star in the film, but the teaser confirmed that Aneet Padda known for Saiyaara, has replaced her. The teaser also revealed that this Maddock Horror Comedy Universe film will release on December 24, 2026.

In an interview, Amar Kaushik, mentor of the universe and producer of Munjya and Thamma, shared updates. Initially two more films, Bhediya 2 and Chamunda, were planned for 2026 but Amar said there might be only one release next year.

The director of Shakti Shalini has not been confirmed yet while Amar said discussions are ongoing. Aneet joined after the team realized they needed a younger actor and she fit the role perfectly.

Shooting is set to begin in January next year. Amar also expressed interest in making a pure horror film outside this comedy universe in the future. Let’s see if it happens.
