“XY” Begins A New Chapter In CV Kumar’s Maayavan Universe

Director CV Kumar has announced his new film “XY”, a sci-fi thriller set in the same universe as his 2017 film “Maayavan“.

He revealed plans for a five-part Maayavan cinematic universe, starting with Maaya One in Telugu. “XY” will feature advanced CGI and new techniques to give audiences a fresh visual experience.

Explaining the concept, Kumar said, “XY stands for chromosomes. The story begins as a murder mystery and later explores how technology and evolution could merge the digital and human worlds. It examines how innovations might even influence human behaviour”.

The film stars newcomers Rathika Ravinder and Aniz Prabakar, with Varshini Venkat and others in supporting roles. Kumar said he picked talented and budget-friendly actors familiar to the audience.
