“Kalki 2898 AD” director Nag Ashwin is sharing many details about the movie and World of Kalki ahead of its release. In a recent video, he explained the unique world of Kalki, highlighting the three distinct cities featured in the film.
The first city is Kaashi, known as the first city on Earth and the last to survive until 2898 AD, when Kalki arrives. Kaashi has a modern, futuristic feel but suffers from a severe lack of water and resources.
All its buildings and monuments are made from recycled steel and other metals, as there are no new materials available. The city is dirty and lacks basic facilities.
The second city is the ‘Complex,’ which floats above Kaashi on an inverted pyramid structure. This city is like a paradise, with abundant water, greenery, and luxurious living conditions.
The third city is Shambala, where people believe Kalki will be born to end the atrocities caused by those from the Complex. According to ancient Kalki is prophesied to be born in Shambala at the end of Kali Yuga.
These three cities have their own unique clothing, weapons, metric systems, and rules, as explained by Nag Ashwin in the video.
