“Working In Telugu Cinema Was A Dream,” Says Malavika

Malavika Mohanan recently made her Telugu debut as one of the female leads in The Raja Saab starring Prabhas. She described it as a dream launch and hoped that working with a major pan-Indian star would bring her more opportunities in Telugu cinema.

Malavika actively took part in promotions and received good attention for her role. However the film failed at the box office and became one of the early big flops of 2026 with producers now assessing the losses.

Despite this setback Malavika said she enjoyed her Telugu film journey. In a recent Insta Q&A she revealed that the first Telugu word she learned was “Cheppu”, which means “tell”.

She also said about her food preferences naming fish curry with rice as her favorite South Indian comfort food and rajma chawal as her favorite North Indian dish.

Adding to this she said she is not a morning person and loves spending time in the mountains happily.
