After the deal made by Nani’s “V” many producers are looking at the OTT release option for their films and are seriously considering to release their films on big platforms if they can procure handsome deals. Now, we hear that Dil Raju has got an offer of about Rs. 80 Crores to sell off the digital rights of the film, exclusively to a major OTT platform. The movie will have a satellite release and it can be dubbed into other languages by the same Digital platform owners.
To seal the deal, Dil Raju needs permission from Boney Kapoor and Pawan Kalyan. The movie could make a total of Rs. 100 crores from all the deals which they might not get by selling off theatrical rights, under prevailing circumstances. As the movie is Pink remake and fans are more excited to watch PSPK27, PSPK28 and other films than this one on large screens, Dil Raju is tempted to take the deal. For this movie to make 30-35 crores at 30% occupancy in one week, will be a big ask even if theatres open next month. Even if they wait till November or December, the vaccine might not really help them increase occupancy rates to 70% for sure.
It will take a while for people to settle their financial issues and spend as much as they used to on films at theatres. If the ticket rates have to reduced or increased, that will have a different impact. Thinking about all the aspects, Dil Raju and team will approach Pawan Kalyan about the future plan regarding Vakeel Saab release, say sources.
